Is Joan a Distant Relative?

We have known about Joan Hughes for many years.

There used to be family visits to see Joan's memorabilia in a pub in Loughton, Essex, presumably the Gardeners Arms, which at one time was in the ownership of the Gardiner/Hughes family.

We have still not found any additional evidence of links between Joan's family and the Collier/Gardiner/Hughes Family other than both the 2 families lived in Bethnal Green then moved to the Loughton area.

There is the possibilty that the families were linked when they lived in the East End of London back in 1841 but to search the 1841 Census the Hughes name is quite common and at present we do not have marriage details including maiden names which would help.
