Notes
Generally there does not appear to be any formality to the calls, i.e. calls being returned, which was the etiquette in 1883-1893 when the Calling Book was kept. Sybilla did make: "many calls" though, e.g. 4 April. Many of the calls were to and from family.
* denotes names that appear in the Calling Book 1883-1893 (in theory any lady without an asterisk could be the lady who kept the Calling Book ten years later) ** an intriguing entry (was this Mrs Cornwallis West of Newlands Manor or the new Mrs Cornwallis West who married William Cornwallis West in 1871 after which her mother in law at Newlands did not talk to her?). # denotes people who attended Mrs St Barbe's musical afternoon on 11 November
