Research 2022
During 2022, I tried to trace Jeremiah Marjoram, once more:
John Marjoram
I tried to find some link to John Marjoram, who married Mary Rookyard on 19 April 1806 in .
I came across 2 family trees on Ancestry. They agreed that John Marjoram;'s parents were William Marjoram and Sarah Moore, who married on 10 October 1866 in Leiston, Suffolkj.
The 2 could not agree on a list of John and Sarah's children and neither included Jeremiah as theirs.
We know for the Censues the names of 4 of the children:
John 1841 60* 1851 73 Died 1858
Mary 1841 60* 1851 66 1861 75 1871 85
* nearest 5 years
Children
John 1841 17 1851/1871 -
James 1841 14 1851 - 1861 31 1871 42
William 1841 - 1851 36 1861 45 1871 52
Henry 1841 9 1851 19 1861/71 -
It is possible that there were 2 other children bp in Debenham:
Mary born 22.5.1821 bp 24.9.1826
Eliza bp 24.9.1826
This would mean a family of:
1814/6 William
1821 Mary
1823/4 John
1826 Eliza
1826/7 James
1831/2 Henry
We have found his marriage and entries in the 1841, 1851, 1871, 1891 and 1901 Censuses. We have also found his marriage certificate in 1864 and his death certificate in 1905 (age 79). from which we can produce a timeline.
Timeline
c 1826 Born Christening not traced as yet
1841 Census In Wetheringsett but not with parents (Age 15 Nearest 5 years)
1851 Census In Wetheringsett (age 26)

1871 Census in Debenham (age 42)
1891 Census in Debenham (age 65)
1901 Census in Enfield (age 75)

It was hoped that we might find out more about Jeremiah from the births, christenings and marriages of his children:
Anna Maria Marjoram
We traced the registration of the birth, census entires in 1871, 1881 and 1939 & marriage of Ann (sometimes known as Anna or Annie) which enabled a timeline to be produced:
Timeline
Born 23.3.1866 in Wetheringsett
- her birth was registered as Ann M. Marjoram in the April-June Quarter 1866 under Hartismere
1871 Census Debenham, Suffolk with Parents
Anna M. Marjoram (age 5) born Wetheringsett
1881 Census Redgrave, Suffolk
Anna Maria Marjoram (age 15) General Servant to the Weavers Family born Wetheringsett

1939 Register of England & Wales

Anna M. Tooley born 23.3.1866 Night Nurse
Elizabeth M. Tooley born 4.3.1891 Daily Help
The mystery goes on with gaps in family knowledge, e.g. we cannot find the christening of Jeremiah's daughter Susannah:
Timeline
Born 1873
- Her birth was registered in Jan-March Quarter of 1873 under Hartismere and
Death 1956
- her death was registered in the April-June Quarter of 1956 (age 83) under Folkestone, Kent
In between whiles, we were able to trace Susannah in:
1891 Census
Susannah (Age 18) in service in the Ipswich area
1901 Census
Susan (Age 24) was listed as a Visitor in Forty Hill, Enfield (we have assumed that her father was Jeremiah Marjoram who was visiting his other daughter Eliza who lived close by)
1911 Census
There is an S. Marjoram listed under Gull Farm, Debenham
We have not traced her in the 1881 Census (Age 8), whuich would have proved who her parents were nor in the 1939 Register of England & Wales
