What’s New?

Wendy Bennett has sent through information about the second Gaucheron/Collier Gathering:

Second Gaucheron/Collier Gathering SATURDAY 17th OCTOBER 2009 11.00 to 4.00 p.m.

Once again to be held at "Dirty Dicks" pub (upstairs on the first floor), that well-known hostelry in Bishopsgate, opposite the entrance/exit to Liverpool Street Station.

Tea& Coffee will be available to purchase, plus drinks and meals to order on the day.

Please come prepared with any family photos, trees, addresses and any other information that you think might be of interest to your fellow "cousins".

We are hoping to plan walking tours of Spitalfields for those who are not acquainted with the area of their ancestors, so any addresses could be useful if you have them.

Perhaps we could also manage to get a group photo this year?

would like to know if you will be attending and if so looks forward to seeing you on 17th October.

Can You Help?

Valerie Kelly has advised me that a Baxter family member has opened her tree and Valerie is trying to help her. This lady has:

1836 Phoebe Collier marriage to Alfred Baxter 1834. (Valerie agrees).
Several children from this marriage including Charles Baxter born 1867.

Charles Baxter married Elizabeth Sophia Collier in 1890 (Valerie agrees).
BUT she cannot find the parents of Elizabeth Sophia Collier to trace the tree back.

The lady has as Elizabeth’s parents Charles Henry Collier born 1853 (k/a Henry) and Elizabeth (surname unknown). Charles Henry Collier’s parents not known (could be Joseph Collier).

Can anybody in the gang help out on this one?
