Introduction

My great grandmother was Martha Hannah Jones who married George Christopher Bower in Mile End in 1864. George Bower died in 1877 and Martha married Frederick Hennenn in Stepney in 1880.

Frederick & Martha Hennenn brought up George & Martha's children as well as their own but my grandfather William Bower was sent to the correction/training ship: Exmouth in 1878, when he was 10 years old.

Because Martha had a brother John Richard Jones, I was able to trace more entries in the Censuses than I would have thought possible.
