Born at West Clandon, Surrey nr Guildford 2 December 1870 during the Franco Prussian war.


Went into Domestic Service at the age of 17 yrs at Marine Parade, Brighton the private residence of Mr & Mrs Rose. They were publicans and had seventeen pubs in London. Mother was Head Parlour Maid. She was there for quite a while.


Afterwards, she went to London and went into service at Richmond Road, Dalston and was there for a time.


From there she went to Mr & Mrs Gigney at Amhurst Road, Hackney. She stayed there until she got married to Dad. Mrs Gigney had Mumís Wedding Dress made by her own dressmaker and gave it to her as a wedding present (cream cashmere and pink corded silk all down the front). Mum wore a big hat to go with it as was the fashion those days.


She died 10 February 1949 on Dadís 7th Anniversary.

In 1841 Henry Peryer was living at Moonhall, Peaslake Rorad, Ewhurst.


A correspondent sent me the attached map of Ewhurst with the position of Moonhall indicated.


We walked past Moonhall on a visit to Ewhurst in 2004.
