In looking for information on the History of Loughton Airfield, I found a remarkable article in a local newsletter:

Joan Hughes Loughton's ATA Pilot

The article does contain an error but it should not spoil the enjoyment and importance of the article:

Joan's father was Arthur Edward Hughes and the family lived in South Woodford (1911 Census) and Harlow Common, Epping (1939 Register of England& Wales).

:On page 2 of the article, the newsletter incorrectly states that the father was Arthur John Hughes and between 1910-1932 the family lived in Buckhurst Hill.
