Map of the Lymington area
The following map shows some of the places mentioned in the web-site:
The map is of part of Hampshire's south coast showing the approximate positions of:
- the towns of Lymingron, Milford (now Milford on Sea) and Milton (now New Milton) in relation to Southampton, the Solent and the Isle of Wight
- the villages of Everton and Beaulieu (home of the famous motor museum)
- Newlands Manor (private property) visited by the Prince of Wales (in Queen Victorai's reign) and the Kaiser, and Osborne House (Queen Victoria's home on the Isle of Wight)
- Hoopers Hill (private houses) and Everton Cottage (guest house) in which Henry & Mary (Fawcett) Murray lived
- (A more recent addition) Fawcett's Field which include New Milton Football Club's ground.
I hasten to add that there are a number of roads that go to Southampton and the route suggetsed is posible but amounts to a succession of roads!
